Dr. Keith Youngblood is a graduate of Mississippi State University college of veterinary medicine. Upon graduation he completed a Rotating Internship at Weatherford Equine Medical Center. There he studied Internal Medicine under Dr. Rob Franklin, Surgery and Lameness under Dr. Jeff Foland, and Reproduction under Dr. Justin Rhitthaler. Upon completion of his internship, Dr. Youngblood spent time in a mixed animal practice before starting an exclusively equine mobile practice.

Dr. Youngblood married Tamara “Tammy” Youngblood in October of 2012, and has two sons Brazos and Rhyder Youngblood. His hobbies include spending time with his wife, playing baseball with the boys, fishing, and caring for horses. His passion for horses comes from many years of raising, showing, and competing in equine events. It appears that his sons share the same compassion for horses.

He is often asked if he is still riding/competing and if he misses it, and his response is, “I get my fix every day providing medical care to horses now, more than I ever did competing.”
